About Ereshkigal
Ruler of the Mesopotamian land of the dead, called Irkalla. Sister of Ishtar. Presided over the judgment of the dead with a panel of underworld judges. Her realm was described as a house of dust from which none return. The myth of Nergal and Ereshkigal tells how the plague god became her consort.
